With all the recent food truck mania, I knew right away I wanted to do my very first blog about one of these creative restaurants on wheels.

As a fanatic of Asian cuisine, I chose Gokudo, a Japanese food truck located at the Winter Park Food Truck Stop. As soon as I got there, I noticed the welcoming setting and relaxing lounge music. The owner, known by friends as Macky, attended Orlando Culinary Academy and food is his life. Chatting with Macky, I learned that to him, making food isn't just making food.

Nineteen years of rock-n-roll! Earthday Birthday is a music festival that brings in the cream-de-la-crem of rock to Orlando. This year they stacked the cards this year with Godsmack, Staind, The Used, Chevelle, and the list goes on (for a full line up visit the website - www.earthdaybirthday19.com). This is an all day outdoor event at Tinker Field this Saturday, April 14th. Prepare for insanity.

Whether good or bad, typical or unusual, everyone has habits; little things you do subconsciously that comfort you or that keep you in check.  For example, one of my habits is waking up in the morning and washing my hands. The O-Rena the former home of the Orlando Magic and large events was brought down with the help of 520 pounds of dynamite early Sunday Morning.  The $102 million compound was demolished after a short life of 23 years and cost Orlando around $2 million to take down.

The Downtown Pour is becoming somewhat of an (almost) Spring Orlando tradition. Long story short, the Downtown Pour (visit website) is a traditional beer/wine/spirits festival with a very welcomed twist.. one price for unlimited samples. Mmmm. They have over 200 variations of wine, craft beer, and spirits that will be available to taste. We offered to make a "200 Club" card sheet but they felt that may be a bad idea so we nixed it.

VAiN Nightclub (formerly boasting itself as a 3-D Nightclub) is in the hands of the right people as of this past New Year's Day. New owners David Yuu has been a Downtown Orlando business owner for years as the proprietor of Bento Café/Mochi and his partner Tony Khuu (owner of Kheep Entertainment, Deepvision.net) has a long running  background in special event management and promotion in Central Florida. These two took on the task of turning what was quickly turning into an over hyped nightclub into a Orlando Nightlife Icon.
