An awkward morning is better than a boring night, right? That awkward moment when you wake up and have no idea where you are, how you got there, or who you’re with. Inspired by true events, I’ve discovered the cure for the morning after.

Step 1. Gather your belongings. All of them. Nothing is worse than leaving with one earring. If you leave anything behind, you’ll probably never see it again. It’s really sad to picture your favorite accessory swept under a bed, or thrown in the trash.

Step 2. Escape. If your car isn’t outside, immediately text a girlfriend with your location. If you don’t know your location, google map yourself. (iPhone or blackberry necessary)

In the event no one is available to rescue you, you’ll be forced to wakeup whoever is sleeping next to you for a ride home. Or, if your apartment is close enough: walk of shame. It’s not so bad, everyone walks around in heels and mini skirts at 8 AM…no one will ever know.

Step 3. Food. Once you are in the safety of your own home or car, naturally the next step is to eat a terribly unhealthy breakfast.

Step 3 ½. Depending on the events of the night before, showering is optional, but highly recommended.

Step 4. Sleep. At least 2 hours is necessary to help you forget the weird stuff that went down only hours before. This will also be the best sleep you’ve ever had.

Step 5. Recap. My favorite step. Call all your girlfriends and fill them in on the great night and even more exciting morning you just had. Wait around for the “Where’d you go?” text, and enjoy the rest of your day until it’s time to do it all again.
